GARFITTS Solid Tines are manufactured from a special high- carbon-steel bar and heat treated to RC45-48 in our own heat treat facility. They are available in all standard sizes but are especially popular in the smaller diameters for aerating in the summer months to relieve stress on greens by allowing water, air and nutrients to easily flow into the root zone. With the combination of small holes and no cores, play can be resumed immediately. Heavy-Duty Hollow Tines Like Standard Hollow Tines, this line is also tubular and designed to remove a soil core, but they are constructed from a special high carbon steel. The steel tubing is specially manufactured for GARFITTS to achieve uniform hardness of RC45-48 throughout the tine for excellent wear and toughness. These tines are much tougher and resist bending in extremely hard or rocky soils and you can expect 3-4 times longer life than from the Standard Hollow Tines. Shatter Tines With their “+” shape, GARFITTS shatter tines relieve compaction and allow water, air and nutrients to flow in the root zones and beyond with virtually no visible surface disturbance. Because of their unique shape, the aerating area is maximised while allowing play to be resumed immediately. GARFITTS Shatter Tines are \manufactured from special high-carbon steel investment castings and heat treated to RC45- 48 in our own facility to insure you of optimum quality. Standard Hollow Tines Designed to remove a soil core, GARFITTS Standard Hollow Tines are constructed from case hardened tubular steel and are the most economical tines available. Case hardening hardens the inner and outer surfaces of the tine wall to over RC55 for added wear. Carbide-Tipped Hollow Tines The GARFITTS Carbide-Tipped Steel Hollow Tine construction is the same special high carbon steel tubing and hardened to RC45-48 as the heavy-duty hollow tines, with the addition of a carbide tip for even longer life. The advantage of using carbide tipped tines is the ability to maintain your maximum aerating depth consistently over the life of the tines. You can expect these tines to last 6-8 times longer than the GARFITTS Standard Hollow Tine and reduce labour costs in changing out tines. Carbide tipped tines are not recommended in rocky soil conditions, as carbide, which is extremely wear resistant, can break when encountering hard impacts in rocks. Standard Hollow Side-Eject Tines Manufactured from tubular steel with a precision machined slot in the side wall to allow for more efficient core removal in heavy soils. GARFITTS ʼs unique method of machining maintains the maximum side wall height for strength to avoid bending. Case hardening hardens the inner and outer surfaces of the tine wall to over RC55 for added wear. GARF CATALOGUE '11 - Pg 001 - 148:GAR CATALOGUE '11 - Pg 001- 148 27/11/10 13 :58 Page 1
